So everyone always told me that time flies when you have children....it is very true! Even though I am with her every day, it still seems like she is doing something new every minute! She is imitating me more and more, and now can say "shhhhh" with her little finger pressed against her lips. Although she has done many cute and adorable things, there have been incidents that I would rather forget. Here is one of those :)
About a week ago Ryan and I were talking in the living room while Lily played quietly in her bedroom. Sounds nice right? Well it was too quiet for our Lily and I got up, turned the corner to the bathroom, and there was my peanut....scooping toilet water with such delight with one of her stacking cups. I'm not exactly sure how much of the wonderful water actually ended up in her mouth, but it was definitely all over her face, clothes, and the floor. I waited anxiously for the next 12 hours just waiting for some rare illness to occur....but nothing happened. I guess this is just one more thing to help me be less of a germ-a-phob!
More pictures are on the way so stay tuned....

Ewww!! Man, what I would have paid to see your face!
Don't feel bad, Amy! Sadie has survived a few toilet encounters and hasn't had any rare diseases yet. Meanwhile, I'm desperately trying to train the big girls to shut the door when they leave the bathroom because if they forget, even once, Sadie's in there rubbing toilet water in her hair. I bet Ryan will be much more cooperative . . .
I understand! Being a mom, unfortunately, teaches one to not be so concerned about germs. You just have to, or you'll go crazy! The other day I was watching 5 kids under 6 (ages being 6,3,3,2,1) for 12 hours! Anyway just before the dad came to pick up his 3, 2, and 1 year old, I found the 2 and 1 year old happily playing in the toilet, and to my horror, my son hadn't flushed the toilet after he went, so they were playing in pee! None got in their mouths, but still so gross!!! I scrubbed their hands, hand sanitized and sent them thankfully home to their dad. I still shudder when I think about it.
Amy,
I love the toilet story! That is just so classic - and that it happened in your house is even better! I'm sure the toilet was sparkling clean so no worries. Anyway, that Lily is just so precious I can't stand it! I just wish she weren't so dang far away. We love you guys!
PS. Glad you got the gift card(s). There are two coming! Love you and Happy Birthday.
It is going to get so much worse...but you can handle it.
Oh how awful! That is one of my worst fears. Thankfully nothing happened!
Kids are so creative! A private water-tray toy that flushes. Good luck.
I have heard that our kitchen sinks are actually dirtier than our toilet bowls! YUCK!! Regardless, I understand your disgust!! :)
