Cherry Blossoms, Mowing, and the Park!

Let us catch you up on the last three weekends! Three weeks ago Mommy had Spring Break and was home all day, every day, with Lily. We went to the park, went out to lunch, did a little shopping...it was wonderful! We ventured in the sunny yet freezing cold weather to the cherry blossom festival! Unfortunately, we didn't get any close up pictures (thanks to modern technology and camera batteries that die all too soon), but we did see them and they were beautiful!

Last weekend and this weekend we stayed near home to get ready for Grandpa's visit (which means Ryan mowed the lawn and cleaned up the yard!). It was so fun to watch Lily become mezmorized with the lawn mower. She literally sat and watched Daddy mow the entire front and back yard! Talk about an attention span. Daddy hopes she learned a lot so that soon she can mow for him :)

Today we tried to have a picnic in the park. Note: 11 month olds(yes Lily is 11 months today!) do not eat well off of a picnic blanket! There was too much going on for the little one to focus on eating. We took her over to the playground and she had her first swing experience. The pictures tell all! She absolutely loved it! There isn't anything much more precious than the excitement we saw on our little one's face tonight. Thank you for the reminder to live in the moment Lily! We love you!

Hoppy, Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter, and yes the Easter Bunny visited our house! Lily was quite excited about the family Easter basket. She loved taking everything out and then putting everything back in...over and over and over! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Roberts for the darling bunny and cookie cutters, and thank you Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen for the beautiful Easter outfit from Italy! It finally fits, and Lily looked so darling in it. Thank you also to the cute Jergensen fam for the darling chickie card! We loved it!

This past weekend, Dad was on call and sleeping all day Saturday, so Lily and Mommy went to Brookside Gardens. It is a beautiful place to stroll along and they have a wonderful conservatory with beautiful flowers! It was a rainy day and the smell of fresh flowers was just what we needed! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Two Weekends with Family

Where has the time gone??? Two weekends have flown by, and we are behind on our updating. So, two weeks ago, we headed into town and had the glorious opportunity of meeting up with Uncle Tom and cousin Laura! We took a pleasant stroll around tow, in the car however and pretty much solved the world's problems in those ten minutes! It was great to see our family and we only wished we could have spent more time with you two!

After our quick visit, we drove up to the Capitol hill area and walked through Eastern Market. Lily loved looking at all of the meats, cheeses, flowers, cookies, etc. etc. After a little walk around the neighborhood, we stopped for some treats at Marvelous Market and then headed home! It was a nice little weekend, and we loved seeing Tom and Laura!

Following our weekend, we received some sad news from Ryan's family that our sweet Grandma Roberts had passed away. She was 93 years old and we will miss her greatly. Ryan and I had many fun memories visiting her when we all lived in downtown SLC. So, thanks to our wonderful family, we were able to visit Utah for the weekend to attend her funeral. It was wonderful to see everyone and Lily loved to be with so many who love her. The funeral service was so beautiful and we were able to drive up to Smithfield Utah near Logan where Grandma was born. She was buried there on a snowy Saturday. Lily was such a trooper and Ryan and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family, and an incredible little baby!
After a wonderful visit with our amazing family Lily got her first piano lesson from Grandma Suzi. Thank you Grandma! We miss you all already and miss those beautiful mountains! Until next week, be well everyone!

Frogs, Frogs, and more Frogs!

That's right folks.....frogs! This weekend, we ended up at the National Geographic Museum to see their exhibit of frogs from around the world! It was so cool to see these little, and big, creatures up close and personal. From the African Bullfrog, to the Wax Monkey, to the Poisonous Dart frog....which by the way is the most poisonous frog in the world. The toxins on its skin are strong enough to kill 10 people! Lily is really in to pointing these days, as you can see. We aren't sure if she was really pointing at the little froggies, but we'll pretend! She loved Kermit though, that's for sure. Until next weekend, have a great week, and watch out for those Dart Frogs!!!

Beep Beep! Here comes Lily! (before someone starts freaking out, just know, car not moving, car parked).

More Adventures!

So we have managed to keep our New Year's Resolution alive for three weeks now! Last weekend we went to the Air and Space Museum followed by a nice stroll along the Mall. Lily enjoyed the beautiful fresh air and the warm sunshine the best I think. It was so nice to be outside! This past weekend, Grandma Debbie came to visit and Lily had so much fun playing with her and spending time with Grandma! Debbie was nice enough to watch Lily while Ryan and I went on a little date! Thanks Grandma!!!

In addition to our weekend adventures, Lily is having her own adventures standing, crawling, walking along all the furniture in our house, etc. etc.! She has discovered that crawling has opened up a whole new world to her. She also loves to point at things now. This is her new way of communicating with us and it is so cute! She points at anything interesting, or something tasty that she wants to eat. I love it! Every day she is changing and doing new things. This is happening all to fast and just when I want to take a picture of her newest "trick" she has advanced to something even newer! Slow down Lily :)

Weekend Adventure!

For our New Year's Resolutions, we decided to make a family goal to visit the sights every weekend. We live only about 20 minutes away from the Nation's capital....so we think it is time to take advantage! Last Saturday we ventured to the Capital Building as well as the Botanical Gardens. It was a great little outing. Lily loved looking at all the flowers and leaves. She loves to be outside in nature so the Botanical Gardens were right up her alley! Oh yeah, the Capital Building was pretty neat too!
